This 24' by 16' balloon graphic represents the view from a
palace at the fictional, idyllic land called Shangri-La. The balloon
tapestry served as the backdrop for Final Night at the International
Balloon Arts Convention in 2003. It took 40 RMS Banner panels, 5,000
Qualatex 5" balloons, staff and ;three classes of students to
assemble. Even so, it depended an a bank
of Conwin Dual Split-Second Sizers for fast, accurate sizing of balloons to
pull off the project in the time allowed.
The light weight and flexible nature of the RMS framework
enabled staff to manually lift this balloon graphics masterpiece, set it on
wheels and roll it, in tact, to the adjacent ballroom to join the public
"Festival of Balloons" on the following day.
