What is Balloon-a-Palooza?
Balloon-a-Pallooza is a Balloon Art Exhibit in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is the largest balloon exhibit
in the Midwest. The 2006 Exhibit is November 18 – 27,
2006 at the famous Mitchell Domes and Pavilion. All
proceeds from the exhibit benefit the Milwaukee County
Parks. 20,000 people are expected to attend this year’s
exhibit. Balloon-a-Palooza is the creation of artist
and award winning Carmen Ballering of Milwaukee.
This year’s Balloon-a-Palooza has two themes: “It’s A
Fun World” and “The Secret Garden”.
“It’s A Fun World” will feature lots of things that kids
consider “fun”, such as a circus train, a water park, a
county fair, an aquarium, and a take-off on the movie,
“Cars”. There will also be a formal art gallery of
balloon “paintings” and sculpture.
“The Secret Garden” is a wonderful fantasy maze full of
flowers, trees, water features, a wishing well, a
unicorn, and of course, “The Fairie Queen”. Children
will go on a Scavenger Hunt to look for all of the
secrets hidden in the garden.
